Director of Academic Outreach (Central Asia & Middle East)
Gulzhan leads ALBA’s academic outreach across Central Asia and the Middle East, building trusted relationships with universities, research institutes, and individual scholars, with a particular focus on supporting female academics.
Educated in the United Kingdom, she holds multiple degrees from Durham University, awarded with distinction. Her academic training in international heritage and cultural management gives her a deep understanding of research cultures, institutional expectations, and the standards required for publication in leading international journals.
Through her regional engagement strategy, Gulzhan has connected hundreds of female academics with ALBA’s editorial expertise, enabling their research to meet the standards required for publication in top-tier international journals.
Fluent in English, Russian, and Kazakh, she works closely with scholars navigating cross-border academic systems and seeking to publish at the highest level.
